For a quarter of a century, a small collection of barrels was hidden away in Ardbeg’s distillery in Islay, Scotland. In 2021, this 25-year-old whisky experiment was released. Despite a long period of aging, Ardbeg’s signature smoke and peat are still very prevalent. Over time this whisky, matured in the rarest of casks, has developed complex flavours that beg to be explored. TASTING NOTES: EXTREME COMPLEXITY APPEARANCE Bright amber AROMA Smoked cream, peppermint and toffee, with Ardbeg’s classic fennel and pine resin on the nose. Distant earthy bonfires mix with herbal and fruity notes, along with candle wax. TASTE A complex palate of hot pepper, lemon sherbet, tar, aniseed, cream and fudge.
